How to plan a wedding and keep your friends.

Weddings-fight-friends

It’s easy to get wrapped up in planning your big day and sometimes forget those around us.  Try to keep in mind the following points, especially when dealing with bridesmaids.

They too have lives – Not everyone will have the hours to dedicate to attending every event with you, wedding fairs, bridal sales etc.  Ask away, just don’t be disappointed if they can’t make it.

Don’t try to change anyone – Just because she may have the official title of ‘bridesmaid’ now, doesn’t mean she has to change her appearance to suit the photos (this may sound weird, but it happens a lot).

Personal Shopper you are not! – OK, you will be choosing the dresses, the style, the colour, but you must ensure that your bridesmaids suit the dresses and feel comfortable.

Cash, money, spends – You have your wedding budget, she more than likely doesn’t.  Try to keep your bridesmaids situations in mind when planning events such as the Hen, Pre-Wedding Hotel stays and Post-Wedding Hotel breaks.   Weddings are costly events for all guests, and your best friend may not have factored in a weekend in Paris a couple of months before the big day.

Remember, you will need those friends around when the wedding is over and done with!
