Winter weddings are becoming more and more popular. The weather’s so unreliable in this country that you might as well pick a winter date – at least you’ll have a fair idea of what the temperature will be like and if it doesn’t rain it’s a bonus! Having said that though, we do get some lovely winter days – perfectly still with crisp, blue skies – great for photos. The other good thing about winter weddings from your guests’ point of view, is that the accommodation rates in hotels tend to be quite a bit lower than during the summer months. We would always advise in asking the relevant questions below and asking for confirmation in writing before putting a deposit on any potential venue. Hotel managers may have a lot of weddings during the time you are getting married, and it would be impossible to remember everything off the top of your head.
Here are the standard questions you may like to ask.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You will cherish the memories, and the photographs, for years to come.
Here you can see a wedding display with aprox 120 cupcakes on 6 tiered perspex stand. The cutting cake also featured a gorgeous decorative brooch.
Your wedding cake is a central focal point on the day, and should be a true reflection of your style & personality. A tower of stylish wedding cupcakes will be truly memorable, and your guests will delight in the unique display and delicious flavours.
CUPCAKES: All cupcakes are home made to order, and I am dedicated to using high quality ingredients (Irish where possible) and free-range eggs are used at all times. I offer a mouth watering choice of flavours, and this range is expanding all the time. I can colour-match flowers/icing to your requirements and am constantly developing new decorating ideas.
CUTTING CAKE: In addition, I can supply a coordinating iced chocolate biscuit cake (cutting cake) to top off the display. Other flavours of cutting-cake also available on request.
I would be delighted to meet with you for a consultation, where you can sample cake flavours, see decorations in detail, view my design options in full, & discuss all your ideas in comfort. A consultation should take place no later than 6 weeks prior to the wedding, but to ensure availability, as I can usually only do one wedding per two-day period, please contact me as early as possible.
EXTRAS: There are a number of extras that may be used to enhance the overall appearance of your cake display, such as silver/gold/coloured/patterned paper baking cases, cupcake wrappers (decorative paper “wraps” that come in a multitude of designs, styles & colours), ribbons, cake brooches and more. All of these options can be included on request, subject to availability.
PRICES: Because every cake design is different to the next, and some decorations take far longer to make than others, it is difficult to summarise the different price categories, but start at €2.30 per cupcake for the simplest decoration.
DELIVERY, SET UP ETC.: Delivery to venue (greater Dublin area), set up & stand hire is also available. For locations outside Dublin arrangements may be agreed where possible.
The Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt, County Wicklow

Gordon Ramsay at Powerscourt is the acclaimed celebrity chef’s first location in Ireland. “Ireland is internationally renowned for the quality of its food and the warmth of its hospitality. We are committed to providing an amazing dining experience in this magnificent setting,” the London-based chef explained. The restaurant, on the hotel’s third floor, also offers al fresco dining on the terrace to take full advantage of the Sugar Loaf Mountain views.
For guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Powerscourt, a visit to ESPA will be both a pampering and relaxing experience. The 30,000 square foot (2,788 square meters) facility includes 20 treatment rooms and 2 private spa suites.
