Often times, the best way to start your search for a wedding gown is by looking around at some wedding dresses, and getting an idea of what’s out there today, the styles, the colors, and what you would like, and envision.
Keep in mind, this is a very loose-ended process, as a certain gown may not quite be flattering on your body, so keep in mind and be aware of what normally looks good on you. I’ve seen many times brides with no hips trying to pull off a mermaid cut which usually leaves the bride looking not too flattering. Normally, a bride with more curvaceous hips would look better with a mermaid. Also a sparkling white does not suit us all. Be prepared to try on everything suggested to you, you’ll be surprised at what you end up buying!
Anyways, so look around online and get an idea of what’s out there. After you’ve found some styles you like, take them to your local gown designer and let them know what you envision. Most outstanding designers will work with you and get you looking just the way you envisioned and the most flattering for you.
