So here I am!! Doing my report!! Would ya believe it??!! The last six months just absolutely flew!!! I will try my very very best to keep this short but to those of you who know me that might be hard!!!!

The Bride : Deirdre , 29 , Cork
The Groom : Will , 25 , Cork
Tuesday before the wedding:

Girls in work had a cake and all for me at lunchtime which was lovely…all was going very well and I was enjoying my last day at work when one of my nails broke….i nearly cried…they were all perfect and the same length…cue frantic call to nail technician to get it fixed so off I went at half 4 to do that.!!! That night then we had to go to my parents house to sort out a few last minutes bits and pieces……

Wednesday:

Got up and headed off for my waxing at 9am…on reflection that was a stupid move as that much pain that early in the morning is never good for anyone….Home, collected h2b and off to my sisters to collect the tables plans, table names etc…the car was so full it took us an hour to unload it!!! Went home and a few people called with presents etc so that was nice..

Thursday:

My husband!! Was getting his diploma that day so we were actually away in another county for most of the day..BM and mother dropped everything to the hotel….only to find out that when the suits were collected out of 8 suits 2 shirts fitted properly..all the rest had to go back!!!!!!!

Friday:

According to my perfect plan this was a day of relaxation and nice fluffy stuff…how wrong was i…..!!! arrived to see my cake at 10am to find that the lady was still in bed and then was told that she didn’t have 2 tiers of it baked!!! I immediately panicked so I said I would get my sister to call at 3pm and the lady assured me she would have it ready( as it turned out she did and it was amazing and we had just got our times mixed up!!!)…so to calm myself we went for breakfast and to cut an incredibly long story short while eating his sandwich my husband swallowed his front crown!!! I nearly threw up in O Briens….we ran out the door and I rang the dentist nearly in tears!!! In fairness they took him straight away and fixed it but we were not well after it!!!!! YAY for that dentist!!!

So off to my parents house only to find out my dad’s suit did not fit either so off we had to go again with that……BM’s arrived at 5pm with champagne chocolates and a huge bride balloon for hair straightening and nails by my fabulous friend so husband hightailed it out of there but not before giving me a sheet of paper that told me when we come back from honeymoon I was getting a pug!!! I have wanted one since forever so cue a lot of screaming….once everyone was gone had a lovely evening just me and my parents and headed to bed about 12….didnt sleep a wink!!!!

Saturday:

Woke at 6.10am and the excitement hit me then!! Rang husband to wake him!!hehehehe…then at 6.45am I couldn’t sit still a second longer so ran into my parents room screaming IM GETTING MARRIED….my dad considered calling the hospital for me!!! BM’s arrived at 8am in the ice but it was a perfectly clear day..off to the hairdressers for who did a fab job.. I was calm until they started doing mine then I started getting a bit twitchy in the chair and my sil who was doing my hair had to calm me down!!!…then home to the beautician who was fab too (thanks emma!!) my eyelashes were the bomb and everyone looked fab….my dad was just wandering around looking for stuff to do then everything happened together…photographer and videographer and cars all arrived at the one time so I was rushed off to put my dress on!! I was weak for myself when I was ready and we took loads of pictures at home…of course I was ready early so just had to wait to go to the church!!

I arrived at the church at half one exactly and people were tearing in the door past me…when I was trying to get out of the car my dad was talking to my brother and my bm’s were looking the other way and I was trying to make a graceful exit!!hehehe…as you can imagine some funny pictures there! Got some lovely photos at the end of the church…I was ok till my sister started walking then the butterflies started in my tummy…my dad just told me smile and we were off…getting to the top of the aisle was fab as my husband looked so handsome!!

The mass just flew and we were nattering away for most of it!! I nearly threw up when I had to drink the wine at communion and made a horrendous face which of course the video got!! So then it was signing the register and off we went for more photos…the church singers were amazing and everyone commented on them and I remember thinking the flowers and pew ends were exactly what I wanted!!! We opened some champagne just as we were getting into the car….we stopped at my elderly granaunts house on the way to the hotel so lots of tears etc!!!

The bridal party then headed to the warm hotel for Moet and chocolate fountain while we went to the beach for pictures!! Freezing but the pictures were amazing!! When we went back to the hotel everyone started clapping and taking pictures…I felt like a celebrity!! Loads of family shots there and then the singers (same crowd as the church) did a little tribute to us before they finished and we were all dancing around reception in the hotel…brilliant fun!!

Then everyone went in for dinner, we got more pictures taken, then we finally went in…starved at that stage! Dinner was outstanding….speeches were lovely really heartfelt and very funny..the paddy power speech betting kits were fantastic and were so much crack!! Our speeches were exactly 36 minutes 30 seconds!!!! Some people won a fortune!!!

After dinner we let off our sky lanterns…oh my god…they were amazing! Worth every penny…..my brother and cousins were responsible for leaving them off but of course they couldn’t just light them with a lighter…oh no….they had a blow torch!!!!! It was hilarious…I searched everywhere for my husband to witness the romantic moment with him as we watched them float off into the distance but he was no where to be found…only to come back 10 mins later out of breath telling me he was below letting them off!! Oh the romance!!

Our band were beyond brilliant…first dance was fab and we did a super job even if I do say so myself…lots of spins (which made my dress look fab btw!) and stuff!!!! The dance floor was packed all night and I never stopped…..had a beautiful dance with my dad…just me and him on the floor…my mam was in bits!!! Dj came on and disco diva here went into overdrive…up on the stage I go to lead rock the boat, the macerena etc…the mortification and I was drinking 7UP!!! Then that lead to some AC/DC and bon jovi!! (don’t ask…lots of air guitar etc!!!), off to the residences bar and finally crawled to bed at 4am!!!

What a day! It was amazing start to finish…I am very sorry for the length of this report too btw!!! Just an added note to everyone who helped me and gave me advice on this site….THANK YOU…
